I am a new media artist who examines power, selfhood, and embodied consciousness through drawing and shared immersive space. My goal is to approach hyperobjects (e.g. climate change, systemic oppression, the internet) through the intimacy of visceral intuition.
The contradictions inherent in immersive media — invisibility/ visibility, real/virtual — echo throughout my work as they challenge and expand understandings of consciousness. My analog and digital artworks are now interdependent as my foundation in fine art informs my work in extended reality (XR) and vice versa.
As an extension of my practice, I founded a free, AR public art platform, the 4th Wall app. The app allows for an inclusive, collaborative reconsideration of site, time and space in relation to our own bodies. Accessibility, subversive creative expression, and a newly imagined presentation of public art are at the core of the app’s mission.
In all media, I hope to prompt transformative experiences that in turn provoke conversation and initiate a broader cultural dialogue.
